There are two topics within the day of Black Friday in which I will be addressing. Is black Friday overpowering Thanksgiving? Also, is Black Friday going to be the same this year? The reasin I bring the idea of Black Friday and Thanksgiving clashing is because I have heard many people say that people are now just takling about the shopping and not caring about the celebration with their families. You see many people waiting Wednesday nights and all day Thursday in order to buy a TV or some other item, and now those people are missing out on the true Holiday of Thanksgiving. The other idea I was to address was the concept of whether or not the big "black Friday" would be remotley the same this year. I bring this idea up because of the economic recession that is taking place in our country today. Knowing that many people have lost their jobs and are now on that very popular tight budget, stores were wondering of their customers would be out shopping till morning like a usual Black Friday.
I think that Black Friday and Thanksgiving are not clashing as bad as many other think. Yes, many people are more concerened on that crtain TV they want, but it is tradition now, because Black Friday will always remain on the same date. I am a Black Friday shopper this year, This was my first year! It was a fun time with friends and I saw huge crowds from 8pm til i left the mall at 9am. I was up and shopping all night and morning and recieved many great deals! Businesses are not suffering that much from the recession this year becasue the sales tempt the customers to a degree where they must come!
Black friday is the biggest waist of time. Families do go out and wait and that is how they spend their thanksgivings. That is what cyber Monday is for. You get the entire weekend with your family and you don't have to wait on the huge lines. You also get the free shipping and all the cool stuff with it.
ReplyDeleteI think that it seems to overpower Black Friday a little. People use to think only of Thanksgiving and never even talk about Black Friday. Now, it seems that it is a more anticipated event that Thanksgiving. The holiday has begun to lose it significance and many families that I know aren't celebrating it with the rest of their families. I don't go shopping at all but i have noticed that I am rarely seeing any thanksgiving decorations anymore and Christmas decorations seem to take its place.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind black Friday except for the fact that it's the day right after Thanksgiving. Maybe if it was a week later or something like that it wouldn't take away the significance of Thanksgiving. I saw more Facebook updates and Twitter tweets about Black Friday than of Thanksgiving. To me that seems like a problem in itself.
ReplyDeleteI really do not black friday it is overpowering a holiday ment for family. But this seems to be the new trend in America people are forgetting family. Unfortunatly my friends draged me to the mall friday at 3a.m., i hated it. the mall was to packed and people had to shove each other out of the way just to get into the stores. this to me is wrong i love thanksgiving, I get to see my family but i hate Black Friday.
